Always read between the lines. The interviewer is here concerned about your past performance and fit to previous companies.

Your TONE OF VOICE should calm the interviewer down. Be always sincere and direct and have a smile while you talk. Your voice should come from your feet, not from your head. Imagine that for a second and you will sound more confident. Try this trick too…

You don’t want to convey that “any job” will do. You’ve not been looking for a job but for this job! Don’t show that you are needy or impatient. You must be tranquil and show that you’ve got plenty of time to find the right job.

In case you’ve been searching for a long time (more than 1 year) you can always say that you have a clear vision of the job you want to land, and that you’ve been selective about the positions you consider, and that this position is certainly of great interest to you.

I have always thought that a good interview is measured by the quality of your answers. But it is not. It is measured by the quality of your listening and your questions.

All questions are trying to answer one simple doubt: "Are you the person we want to meet face-to-face?" And it is usually not a question to be answered with words (even in the phone). Let me show you how to use your tone of voice.

Ask yourself "what do you fear the most to be asked"? and prepare for that question.

Be honest in your answers. You don't need to be "perfect" in your answers. You need to convey a sense of trust. So...relax.
